Breakdown

The fun part of this story is obvious. Monsters, Inc. is one of Pixar’s biggest legacy brands, but it has never gotten the direct big-screen follow-up people usually mean when they say “part three.” Monsters University looked backward, and Monsters at Work expanded the world on TV. This would be the first theatrical movie built as a real next chapter.
